In Ziolkowskis experience, customers who come in based on a gut feeling usually
end up addressing a real issue. Sometimes it turns out to be nothing, but he said its
always better to be safe than sorry, especially since A to Z offers free diagnostics for
up to one hour.
5. SOMETIMES THINGS HAPPEN
The owners manual isnt just something to toss in the glove box and forget about.
According to Ziolkowski, reading it is one of the simplest ways to extend the life of
your vehicle. While it may seem obvious, he said most drivers never open it, missing out
on essential maintenance guidelines, warning signs, and helpful tips.
Everyone knows how to start their car and drive it, but most people dont really
know how to maintain their specific vehicle, Ziolkowski said.
He added that most manuals are now available online, making them easier than ever
to access. For customers who still feel overwhelmed, Ziolkowski said hes always happy
to help explain how a vehicle works and what it needs to stay in good shape.
2. FOLLOW A MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Skipping routine maintenance is never a good idea, Ziolkowski said. Neglecting basics
like oil changes, tire replacements, and transmission check-ups can lead to unsafe
driving conditions and costly repairs down the road.
All fluids wear out, break down, and get dirty over time, he explained. When that
happens, your engine, transmission, transfer case, and other components have to work
harder and hotter, and heat is your enemy.
As parts heat up, they expand and begin to fail, which is why clean fluids at the
correct levels are critical. Although some manufacturers claim transmission fluid never
needs to be changed, Ziolkowski disagrees. He recommends changing transmission
fluid every two years or 30,000 miles to avoid what he calls a catastrophic event.
Even well-maintained vehicles can malfunction due to age, wear and tear, faulty
parts, or rough road conditions. When that happens, Ziolkowski said the most important
thing is having a mechanic you trust.
At A to Z Transmissions, a team of experienced technicians can diagnose and repair
nearly any issue without overcharging or surprising customers.
We focus on honesty, communication, and education, Ziolkowski said. We keep
customers informed every step of the way and help them understand how to avoid
major problems in the future.
Over the past 15 years, A to Z has built a loyal customer base largely through
word of mouth. While customers often first visit because something has gone wrong,
Ziolkowski said they tend to return for
routine maintenance and ongoing care
proof that trust and transparency make
all the difference.
