Town of Smithfield - Town Manager's Office ENGINEER ASSISTANT
FULL TIME, HOURLY, SALARIED POSITION
Responsible to assist in the design review of public
and private construction projects, land developments, as well
as the performance of a variety of duties, which will be as-
signed by the Town Engineer or the Town Manager. Work re-
quires a thorough technical knowledge of civil engineering,
computers, drainage, sewer, specifications, and inspection,
drafting and estimating. This person also provides support
in regards to any Sewer or Waste Water Treatment projects.
This position works with related software and programs to
create and maintain data and /or maps that can be combined with geographically referenced data. Re- quires an Associates Degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) from an accredited college or university plus 3-5 years of experience; Registered as an Engineer-in-Training preferred; Working knowledge of GIS, CAD and Microsoft Office; Strong analytical, problem solving, tech writing and organizational skills; Must possess a valid drivers license. Salary range is $55,000 $70,000 depending on qualifications.
