ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT HEARING NOTICE
NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing of the Town Council of the Town of Lincoln,
Rhode Island pursuant to the provisions of Title 45, Chapter 24 of the General Laws of the
State of Rhode Island, as amended, will consider
ORDINANCES IN AMENDMENT OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF
LINCOLN, RHODE ISLAND, AS AMENDED.
NATURE OF PROPOSED AMENDMENT:
The following proposed amendments are under consideration:
Article II Definitions, Data Center and Article III Use Regulations, 260-17
Storage Uses amendment inserts a new use and definition for Data Center and
prohibits them across all zoning districts in the use table.
Article III Use Regulations, 260-19 Manufacturing Uses and Article XI Special
Use Permits 260-68 Specific and Objective Criteria for Specific Uses
amendment inserts a new use for Renewable Energy, Utility Scale Roof Mount; clarifies
the accessory nature of the minor scale renewable energy facilities; and enhances the
criteria for the granting of a special use permit.
Article VIII Overlay Zones, 260-46 Flood Hazard Overlay District amendment
deletes section content and map and refers to updated Chapter 129 Special Flood Hazard
Areas in the Code. Amendment eliminates discrepancies and duplication.

The proposed change, modification, addition and amendment are available online at the
Town of Lincoln website www.lincolnri.gov. A copy will also be available for review at the
office of the Town Clerk, 100 Old River Road, Lincoln, RI 02865.
DATE, TIME & PLACE OF THE HEARING:
Notice is further given that said Ordinance will be considered at a public hearing, in the
Lincoln Town Hall, Town Council Chambers, 100 Old River Road, Lincoln, Rhode Island on
Tuesday, August 18, 2026 beginning at 7:00 p.m., local time, at which time and place all
persons interested may be heard.
APPROVAL, AMENDMENT, ALTERATION:
Notice is further given that the proposal shown herein above may be further altered or
amended prior to the close of the Public Hearing thereon without further advertising,
as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing. Any
alterations or amendments must be presented for comment in the course of the hearing.
Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the Town
Clerk at (401) 333-8453, 48 hours in advance of hearing date.
