Smithfield School Department Destruction of Special Education Records
The Special Education Department of the Smithfield School Department is purging files of casework for students born between January 1st, 1995 - December 31st, 1995.
The records will be destroyed after June 6th, 2026.
Any individuals who were born between those dates and received special education services at any point during their education may choose to request their records. Please forward a written request to:
