NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF
SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS
The North Providence School Department Special Education Office would
like to inform parents/guardians and former students of the intent to destroy
inactive special education records related to the identification, evaluation
and educational placement of students who graduated, moved or no longer
received special education services as of June 2018-2019 school year.
Inactive records are maintained for a period of 7 years after special education
services have ended for the student. Special education services end when
the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, completes his/her
educational program at age 22, or moves from the district.
Requests for records can be made by contacting the North Providence School
Department, Special Education Office 401-233-1100 ext 3715 no later than
August 7, 2026.
