Considering running for political office?
The Declaration of Candidacy filing period to be a candidate
in the 2026 election is June 22nd, 23rd and 24th, 2026.
The deadline is 4:00 p.m on the last day (24th), no exceptions allowed.
All candidates other than Federal Public Office & Statewide Public Office file
in the Town Clerks Office with the Board of Canvassers.

Nomination papers for signatures to qualify will be available on
June 30th, 2026 and must be returned by July 10th, 2026
IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO FILE A DECLARATION OF CANDIDACY
YOU MUST BE A REGISTERED VOTER.
FYI: School Committee declarations are filed from
August 5th to September 4th, 2026 in the Town Clerks Office.
To run for School Committee registered voters must be a resident 6 months prior to the
deadline and will state they will not receive financial backing from a political party.
FYI: Due to the Labor Day holiday, the Party Primary for 2026 will be held on
Wednesday, September 9th, 2026
