NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Cumberland, Rhode Island
pursuant to the provisions of Title 45, Chapter 24 of the General Laws of the State of Rhode
Island & Providence Plantations, as amended, will consider for adoption the following
ordinance.
#26-20 An ordinance in amendment of the Code of Ordinances, amending the zoning
map thereof with reference to Cumberland Assessors Plat 058, Lots 81, 82, & 83
NATURE OF PROPOSED AMENDMENTS:
Amend the zoning designation of Assessors Plat 058,
Lots 81, 82, & 83, from R-1 Residential District to
C-2 Commercial District

Notice is further given that said Ordinances will be
considered by the Town Council on Wednesday, November 18, 2026 at 7:30pm in the
Town Halls Council Chambers, 45 Broad Street, Cumberland, RI 02864. The meetings will
be hybrid using zoom as the remote platform. For participation using video and audio a
computer with webcam and microphone is required. Those without computer access

APPROVAL, AMENDMENT, ALTERATION:
Notice is further given that the proposal shown herein above may be further altered or
amended prior to the close of the Public Hearing thereon without further advertising, as a
result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing.
Any alterations or amendments must be presented for comment during the hearing.
Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the Town
Clerk at (401) 728-2400, extension 138, 48 hours in advance of hearing date.
