TOWN COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING
CODE OF ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
Notice is hereby given in accordance with the Glocester Home Rule Charter that a Public
Hearing will be held in the Town Council Chambers of the Glocester Town Hall, 1145
Putnam Pike, Glocester, RI on September 17, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. The purpose of this
meeting is to consider a proposed amendment to the Code of Ordinance as summarized
below.
Proposed Amendment to the Code of Ordinance:
Part 3 : General Legislation Chapter 247- Taxation Article III
Exemption for Elderly and Disabled Persons
The proposed amendment would annually adjust the base exemption amount for qualified
owners on a non -compounded basis using the Consumer Price Index and with no income
eligibility limitation beginning with the assessment date of December 31, 2025 for use in
the tax roll for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 for qualifying .

The Proposed amendment is available for public inspection and reproduction in the office
of the Town Clerk, Town of Glocester, RI, Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM.
The amendment may be altered prior to the close of the Public Hearing without further
advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the Public
Hearing.
All persons interested in the above are respectfully requested to be present at that time
and place to be heard thereon. Individuals requiring interpreter services must notify
