TEMPORARY SUMMER LABORER
Job description: Temporary Summer Laborer is a laborer position within the Lincoln Water Commission.
Responsibilities include performing daily activities associated with operating and maintaining a public water system.
The Temporary Summer Laborer must hold a driving license and possess good problem-solving, interpersonal, and
verbal/written communication skills. This position aims for High School or College students to learn about how water
systems operate and experience daily responsibilities of maintaining a water system. Pay Scale: $20/hour.
Job responsibilities:
" Assist with minor repairs of water mains and appurtenances. " Perform hydrant painting. " Facility landscaping and maintenance. " Initiate and complete work orders. " Assist with minor repairs of pumping and storage components.
" Assist with meter repairs, testing, and replacement.
" Survey of system assets to update GIS System.
" Other duties as assigned.
" Perform physical and virtual inventory of equipment and materials.
Requirements:
" Currently attending High School or College. " 18 or older " Valid State Driver s License.
" Problem-solving skills.
" Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift up to 40 pounds.
" Ability to maintain and operate hand tools and small engine equipment.
" Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Reports to: Direct report to the Foreman and receive work assignments from office staff as necessary.
Work Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. hour Lunch at 12:00 PM and a morning break. The
Superintendent may require you to come in off-hours if necessary.
