NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Cumberland Planning Board will hold an In-Person and Virtual Public Hearing on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, Cumberland Town Hall, 45 Broad Street, Cumberland, RI 02864.
All Planning Board members will be participating in person. The public may join in person or remotely as described below to offer comment and/or testimony.
The purpose of the hearing is to consider the Preliminary Plan application of applicant Steven Miller, Esq. Commissioner for Albert A. Shakan, Jr., Lori A. Shakan and Debra A. Mitchell for
a Minor Subdivision/Unified Development Review at 2945 Mendon Road (AP 37 Lot 852). The applicant is seeking Preliminary Plan approval to subdivide a single lot containing three primary residences into three separate lots, with each residence situated on its own lot. The project requires a Special Use Permit to allow legally non-conforming residential structures on one lot to be separated into individual lots when the subdivision would not otherwise comply entirely with dimensional requirements. The public is encouraged to attend and offer comment and/or testimony.
