Town Council to consider a proposed amendment to the below Traffic Safety Commission Ordinance
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be convened in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, Smithfield, RI, on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. to consider the following:
Chapter 102 entitled Traffic Safety Commission by amending thereto Section 102-1 entitled Creation, powers, duties.

102-1 Creation, powers, duties
Creation, powers, duties There is hereby established a Traffic Safety Commission consisting of the Chief of Police, or his/her designee, the Chief of the Fire Department, or his/her designee, the Director of Public Works, or his/her designee, a Town Council member to be appointed by the Town Council President and one additional member appointed by the Town Council to serve a three (3) year term. The Chair of the Traffic Safety Commission shall be elected annually, or as needed, by the members of said Commission.
